Vitamin D is mostly produced in the skin in response to sunlight. About 10% of vitamin D is absorbed through food that we eat (assuming a good diet). There are over 200 genes in the body that respond to Vitamin D. Vitamin D is critical in the inflammatory process and good levels result in a significant decrease in auto immune diseases. Vitamin D is predominately known for its role in calcium absorption and utilization. The addition of the Vitamin K2 in this product aids in movement of calcium in and out of the bones. Vitamin D is one of the fat soluble vitamins so checking levels is important to maintain proper amounts. Vitamin D can be low for a number of reasons, but some of the main ones are: low sun exposure, IBD, Crohn’s disease, corticosteroid use, and poor diet.
As a dietary supplement, take one (1) capsule once a day. For best results take with an 8oz glass of water after a meal or as directed by your healthcare professional.
